I create a safe and welcoming environment, a place to pause and reflect on current and past issues.  My approach is warm and engaging with a strong emphasis on building a trusting, caring relationship. I feel it is important that you feel free to express yourself honestly and openly without fear of judgment or ridicule. Through compassionate inquiry, I can help you make sense of your inner and outer world. 

Finding your authentic voice is an important part of my therapy. It is often difficult to see the wood for the trees when you are feeling down or embroiled in emotionally charged situations.

The cornerstone of my work is FOCUSED CHANGE brought about through personal reflection and a willingness to explore new avenues of thought. The presenting issue is usually the tip of the iceberg.  Acceptance is fundamental to effective therapy, resisting what is keeps you stuck, it doesn’t mean you endorse difficult circumstances, but you cannot change what you don’t accept. 

Moving forward means making unconscious programmes conscious, knowing what beliefs and attachments drive you, what needs to be released in order to nurture something new and appropriate for growth. I can help you see the blind spots and address areas of self- sabotage.

INTERNAL GIVES RISE TO EXTERNAL 

Most problems are caused by unhealed emotions from past trauma. Toxic emotions can linger for years and colour all aspects of life. We tend to see the world as we are, and not as it is. Pain is a call to raise your suffering into awareness. It is an opportunity to open your eyes to new possibilities.

In order to reach a state of inner balance and reclaim rejected parts of yourself, it is necessary to weed out the obstacles to renewal and inner well-being. Letting go of guilt, shame and blame is a major part of the process. As with any process it is not a giant leap but a steady step by step undertaking that requires commitment and perseverance.

MY TRAINING AND PERSONAL EXPERIENCE 

I bring my accumulated knowledge spanning several decades of study and lived experience. The insights and learning I pass on are from many of the world’s leading experts on trauma and recovery. My empathy and compassionate understanding have developed as a result of my own life challenges and experience of trauma and healing. Discovering my authentic self has been the most rewarding journey of my life: painful but empowering. As a trainer I have facilitated several personal growth workshops.

Whilst there are universal themes, I tailor my therapy to suit your needs. I believe the best approach is the one that works for you. Whether you are facing a current dilemma, a troubling situation and need clarity, or you are feeling tired and dejected, I am available to work alongside you and help you consider new solutions to old issues.
